From Legal Life to Luxe Living: How Neda Vander Stoep Built her Dream Career

BY DELARA BAKHTYARI

In a world where women are often expected to follow one clear and simple path, Mrs. Neda Vander Stoep chose to create her own. After starting her career at a globally recognized accounting firm utilizing her legal skills, she made the bold decision to pursue her passion for real estate. Her transition from law to real estate required courage, resilience, and dedication. Mrs. Vander Stoep’s story is empowering for young women who are still discovering their own career paths. It reminds us that success does not look the same for everyone and that fulfillment can take many forms.

As a child, Mrs. Vander Stoep did not imagine herself becoming a lawyer. The idea developed later, after completing her undergraduate studies, when she decided to attend law school to earn a versatile degree and explore her interests. After graduating, she began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she spent five years gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced and professional environment. During this time, she sharpened her work ethic and analytical skills. Over time, however, she began thinking more deeply about her long-term goals and realized she wanted a career that allowed more creativity and personal fulfillment. This realization led her to explore a new direction.

Transitioning into real estate was not easy, but Mrs. Vander Stoep faced the challenge with determination. Unlike many traditional jobs, real estate is commission-based, meaning income depends on effort, networking, and performance. This was a major adjustment, but she embraced the change by spending time meeting new people, attending open houses, and learning from experienced agents. “I stayed busy, asked questions, and showed up every day,” she shared. Slowly but surely, her dedication paid off. Within six months, her client base grew and her confidence strengthened.

What makes Mrs. Vander Stoep’s journey especially meaningful is her willingness to step outside her comfort zone in search of happiness and fulfillment. Rather than staying in a career simply because it was familiar, she chose to take a risk and follow her passion.

Mrs. Vander Stoep encourages young women to “expose yourself to as much as possible and keep an open mind, even after you choose a path. It’s easy to doubt yourself, but it’s important to stay focused and not let setbacks define you.”  She also advises students to pursue careers in fields they genuinely care about, explaining that when you enjoy what you do, success becomes more meaningful and lasting.

Mrs. Vander Stoep’s journey shows that fulfillment comes from following what truly excites you. It proves that it is never too late to take a new direction or redefine success. Through bravery, hard work, and self-belief, she built a future that felt right for her. Her story is a powerful reminder that it is okay to change paths, especially when it leads you closer to a life that feels meaningful and right.
